Waiting for Superman

Well, not quite, but I am waiting to create my own "superhero" in the newly released Final Fantasy XIV. It's an MMORPG, which if you're not familiar, is code for Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. I'll get to play online with other nerdy people, fighting, crafting, and forming alliances. That is, if I EVER can get through the agonizing patch update. It took a little over an hour just to install the CD, and now the updates...it's been two hours so far and I have...13.7% complete. FAIL. Based on what I've googled, other people are having similar issue.

I should have taken my boss up on the offer to leave work early so I could get a jumpstart on the game. Not sure if it would have made a difference. In any case, maybe I'll be able to play when I wake up in the morning. After all, I DID take the day off specifically to play this game. Yeah, I'm that nerdy!

And if it's still not done in the morning, then I'm heading out on my bike, maybe up to Starbucks for some coffee or just to the library to return some books. I finally got a rack installed on my bike, so I'm eager to put it to use. I think I'm also going to cave and buy what I think is an overpriced bike bag. I'm digging the Toocan from Detours. I want something nice but functional. I want to ride a mile down the road to Kroger to get a few thing if I want as opposed to getting in the car and driving.

I also want one to hold the goodies I plan to get on the Market to Market bike ride this Saturday. It's part of  Local Matters week where there's a bunch of events highlighting, you guessed it, local food. In the summer and fall it's easy to buy local here in central Ohio, but the winter is a little trickier. One of my goals is to seek out more local/sustainably grown foods, especially meat and poultry.

So if I'm a good blogger (LOL), I'll get some photos of the ride while I'm out. Unfortunately, they'll be crappy iPhone photos, but I work with what I've got. :)
